How did you describe that?

Today you were given a figure to describe to a classmate so that they could draw it on paper. Then you were asked to create your own figure and descibe that to your partner so that they could draw it. Did your spatial thinking change when you were able to describe your own picture? How did it change?

I found that it was alot easier to describe my own. That is probably because I used a variety of simple shapes and few lines. It was diificult to describe the size and angles of the line in the original pictures.

I believe it was easier to describe my own picture. I believe this is because I already know what I'm going to say, when it is confusing when my partner explains something I can't picture in my head.

i thought that it was much easier to describe a picture that i drew because i knew where everything was on the page. i think it was easier because i was making it easier for myself while i was creating it.

I think that it was easier to describe my own drawing. This is because I created it.. so I made it a lot more simple than the one that I had to describe at first. On the first one, there were a lot of difficult lines, and shapes that were hard to describe. Also, describing the placement of shapes and lines was difficult.

I had a easier time describing my own picture because I knew where everything was placed and its location. You also have the picture to look when you are describing.

the main problem of describing it to someone is the fact that some peoples ideas of shapes, distances and proportions are different than what you might think. if you had drawn the picture by yourself you would know how you made it and describing it would be more natural making the process a whole lot easier

I found it easier to describe the picture given to me because I had to focus on the drawing as well which made my directions more clear. When giving directions to my own picture I already knew what it looked like so i wasn't as specific.
